It’s all at the Eastside… Eastside Marketplace is a 150,000-square-foot facility housing more than 20 businesses from retail and restaurants to offices and entertainment outlets. The shopping center is owned by Bennett Holdings LC, a local family consisting of Frank and Delores Bennett and two of their daughters Shelley L. Bennett and Vicki L. Jahns. Jahns is also manager of the facility. Under the ownership of the Bennett family Eastside Marketplace received a $2 million makeover in 1997 transforming the inside of the shopping center into a true marketplace complete with lampposts and umbrellas. Along with the daily activity of business at Eastside Marketplace it’s also a place for a variety of programs, events and meetings. Eastside Marketplace’s ownership and merchants host many annual family-oriented community programs including Home for the Holidays – where children can come play games and enjoy a free Christmas movie courtesy of Eastside Cinemas; Eggstravaganza – where young children can participate in an indoor egg hunt; and Trick-or-Treat – where children can pickup some candy, win prizes for their costumes and go through a haunted house. Courtesy of one of Eastside Marketplace’s tenant - First Step Internet - the shopping center is also an internet hotspot. With the help of both the ownership and merchant mix at Eastside Marketplace, the shopping center is fast becoming a place to do business and spend quality time.
